i have a windows 7 net-book a NP-N210 i tried installing a mac osx theme for windows vista witch i installed on my vista computer witch works but now when i start my net-book it looks like it is starting up but then when it looks like it should be on the log in screen in all goes black exept i can see my mouse pointer i know i can reboot in the settings but i want to keep my files and i am also aware of of hard drive cad but i am looking for a cheaper solution

Steamer bag, good way to cook frozen salmon?

My store carries packages of frozen salmon (wild caught from Alaska). I want to try it but I'm not sure about cooking it. Typically when I get frozen things (like chicken ) I cook them in those microwave steamer bags with whatever seasoning I want. Would this be a good way to do the salmon? I am capable of thawing things (lol) but it saves time and I am not the best one for planning ahead and taking stuff our of the freezer the day before. So, do you think steaming it in the bags would be good? And if so, what seasonings should I use? Lemon, dill, etc... Any ideas or thoughts welcome! Thank you!

Last night I had Checked for updates on my Mac then turned it off for the night...then this afternoon I turned it on fine but it said it still had updates it needed to perform so I did them then it asked if I wanted to restart it to finish the updates so I did...I waited a few mins and my computer never turned back on...so I pressed the start on n it popped up to the grayish page with the loading circle (not the wheel of death) and a loading bar under....oh! N the apple was of course on the page too...but the bar would start to fill in then disappear, then reappear n start to load, then disappear again and after it did that a few times it shut off again...:/ what do I do? I tried all the unplugging stuff n pressing the keys like it says in the manual...am I supposed to just let it sit for a while? Please help me!

Well, theres this girl I seem to be going crazy over, the problem is, she lives in Colombia, lol. We met off Facebook. If she has been ually abused/aulted going to her parents wouldn't be helpful simply because individuals who have been ually aulted need to be put in situations where they are put in control. Had something very similar happen to me. I realize now that blood does not make a family, it doesn't even make a for a good relationship. I would ignore her because her actions have shown that she does not have your best interest in mind. I know how you feel to have to defend yourself to a family you have known your entire life and should know you better. It's exhausting and demeaning. You feel abandon by the very family that you grew up with. If you friend her you will only be opening the door to more abuse. Pregnant guppies and Ich?

I keep a a trio of guppies (2 females and 1 male) in a 10 gallon tank. Recently I noticed all of them rubbing against the gravel at the bottom of the tank but decided to wait before acting, one of the females also developed white spots on her fins and body, so I segregated her and began treating for Ich. Neither of the other two have developed any white spots, though both are swimming very rapidily from time to time. Both females appear to be pregnant although the one in segregation is at very early stages. As I haven't got any Java moss or hiding places in the tank, would it be safe to move the other pregnant female, who by now is very squared and has a large and dark gravid spot into segregation? Also it's been 3 days since the other female began showing white spots, if none of the other fish have yet are they free of ich? And is the tank clear if I moved the female as soon as I seen the white spots? Any help would be hugely appreciated.

I remember learning that immigrants used to come through the Ellis & Angel Islands and were given many tests before they could get in, but that was it if they were healthy enough and could read they were allowed in, although their names were sometimes changed and were often kept from coming in if they were from undesirable countries. Gas fireplace won't start?

I have a gas fireplace (don't know the model off-hand) and I am having issues starting it. I can get the pilot lit. I turn the knob to the pilot position and push it in, light it and let it heat up for a few seconds then let go. The knob is still in the pilot position at this point (just not pushed in) and the pilot is burning. When I turn the knob to the On position though the pilot goes out. Turning the knob to the On position doesn't turn on the fireplace it just allows it to be turned on via the wall switch, which I have in the Off position. I have tried cleaning all the parts I can get to as well as changing out the Thermocouple. Any suggestions?

The pediatrician told us not after a year for either because it'll be harder to take away and is worse for their teeth. Most of the nutrition should be coming from solids. If he's small, he should be eating a lot of foods high in fat and protein--avocado, for example. He's only 2 mos behind schedule, so should be functioning at 11 or 12 mos old. At that point, kids generally either have no bottles or one at bedtime before brushing teeth. Obviously talk to your doctor about it, but I would guess he/she would suggest foods high in fat and to feed him plenty of healthy snacks (cheeses, yogurt, crackers, hummus, guacamole, etc) and that if the bottles aren't in the house, it's not an issue because if he's thirsty he won't deprive himself just because he doesn't like the cup. Don't put the leak proof valve in right away so he knows liquid can come out.

I *think* that when I'm hearing a person who isn't well-educated, I get a rather shrill "note" to it (if that makes sense) - it's something about the accent, although I don't speak Spanish well enough myself to tell you much more than that. My daughter is 9 months and I am going crazy!?

So my daughter is 9 months old. She has suddenly decided she HATES sleeping, she fights her naps with a vengence, she wont take her pacifier or even drink a bottle if she is tired because it might make her sleepier. Its been hot topic for years and just started picking up steam again. I'm personally for it. the law age doesn't stop this 18-20 group from drinking it just promotes unsafe drinking habits and unlawful ways of obtaining alcohol. I Went to college in Canada, and Europe and seemingly drinking never seemed to be a big deal to these newly liberated 18 year olds because parents had the time to talk about these things and expose it to them before they run off to college. Also there DUI rates are almost similar to ours per capita and theyre DUI laws arent nearly as strict or as deterrentnt as ours. i think if the cops keep up the good work and parents and educators get a jump on educating the kids against irresponsible drinking this law change could work out for everyone.

i cant handle pain lol.. so with my son i didnt know what was happening so i didnt scream just swore alot lol.. i tried handling it but i ended up having gas and pethidine then you kinda get to a point where you cant handle it anymore and thats usually a good indication that the baby is coming but i think its easier with the first then the second my daughter i knew what was happening and i screamed the ward down lol.. but my contractions where more intense with her then with my son but i still had gas and pethidine it all depends on how you handle pain .. and admittely i was scared before both my labours so i guess you might be right it might hurt more it all depends on the woman i guess ......... just waiting to see how this labour turns out as im 26weeks preg aswell lol.

It wasn't too bad until he and I were on a hiking trail and he appraoched another dog and got bit. It wasn't bad, the dog didn't break skin but there was a lot of saliva on my dog's neck. When I converted my El Camino, I didn't worry with any of that. I put both linkages on the transmission. I pinned the stock U to the B&M linkage. This way when you shift on the floor, the column still rotates. Doing this still utilizes your ignition switch lock, your back up lights, your neutral start switch, and the gear selection indicator on the dash. I think it's the right way to do it, I don't like to change more than necessary...especially column wiring.
