Why are Democrats so defensive about Obamas religious affiliation?

Its the time honored double standard thats applied by both liberals and the news media to racial issues. They know that a strategic deployment of the Race Card can bring everything from Jesse Jackson, to the NAACP and to the New York news media to strap non-blacks to whipping posts if they say the wrong thing.
