What do you guys think of lowering the drinking age to 18 nationally?

Its been hot topic for years and just started picking up steam again. I'm personally for it. the law age doesn't stop this 18-20 group from drinking it just promotes unsafe drinking habits and unlawful ways of obtaining alcohol. I Went to college in Canada, and Europe and seemingly drinking never seemed to be a big deal to these newly liberated 18 year olds because parents had the time to talk about these things and expose it to them before they run off to college. Also there DUI rates are almost similar to ours per capita and theyre DUI laws arent nearly as strict or as deterrentnt as ours. i think if the cops keep up the good work and parents and educators get a jump on educating the kids against irresponsible drinking this law change could work out for everyone.
