Is there a better way to handle this adult step-children problem?

I know everyone thinks there must be some reason these children are so indifferent to their mother and her feelings but sometimes it just is what it is! I have 2 of these grown children myself, they were loved, nurtured and never abused in any form but they are basically just self centered selfish beings without rhyme nor reason. I know it is difficult but you must move on with your lives without them. Your wife is lucky to have you by her side.
