Owl finch got sick and died. why?

Bought an owl finch, one week to the day later I noticed she was not sleeping with the other finches. She was fat. Her feathers were fluffy. She couldn't stay awake, she was falling asleep eating in her food dish. I ran a couple errands, came back, she was dead. What happened?
