Is bleeding like this normal and not having for so long?

i stop taking the depo shot last dec and my periods came back slow and spotty but about 3 and a half weeks ago my period started and hasn't stopped it's medium to heavy flow the whole time. I'm surprised i havn't fainted from blood lost but actually i feel better. Is it possible my periods built up in there over time. My husband laughs and says this is ridiculous but where would i get so much blood and not feel sick?plus my husband won't have with me in this shape he treats me like i'm dying he even went and bought me ensure milkshakes to drink. Honestly i feel kinda gross and don't want anyway but it saddens me he doesn't want for so long How many men would this turn off?
